The 2 in 1 Wander Sock, made in Sweden, is a two-piece sock with an inner liner-sock and a merino wool outer sock for insulation. The 2-in-1 sock prevents chafing during long hikes. Can be worn separately or combined and works great for all-round activities and hiking.

Great concept
I have tried both variants so far in 2 medium-length hikes: top. Not too warm, not too cold, nothing pinches and I also didn't have the feeling of wearing a mega thick sock on my foot. I am very satisfied.
