The North Merino Trousers is a pair of heavyweight base layer trousers, crafted from a soft merino wool blend with a brushed inside. Merino wool provides excellent insulation and the brushed inside creates air pockets which improves the insulation capacities of the fabric. In addition to that the wool is moisture-wicking which means that it draws perspiration away from the skin, so these trousers keep you dry even when working up a sweat during outdoor activities.

Keeps you warm, but is heavy
The pants fit very well, not too long and fit very well.
It is soft, comfortable on the skin and warms well. Even in not quite cool temperatures, you can still wear them well without sweating.
Personally, however, I find the pants a bit heavy, so I feel very sedate when hiking. However, this will probably not be solved in any other way with the material composition, so no real shortcoming.
